WV Caring Employees Work to Raise Money for Bonnie’s Bus

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – Bonnie’s Bus is a mobile mammography unit that travels across West Virginia, offering breast cancer screening in a comfortable, convenient environment.

“A lot of people don’t realize one in eight women will get breast cancer in their lifetime, that’s significant,” explained Kim Riley, Bonnie’s Bus Volunteer.

Kim Riley and Sherry Belldina have made it their mission to provide women in rural areas access to mammograms.

The objectives are:

  • To enhance the partnership between the community based hospice and the faith based community
  • To understand the role of the faith based community in caring for the sickest of the sick in the community
  • To give tools to the attendees to actively use to comfort the patient and family

Rev. Dr. David Spence has 31 years of experience in the ministry.
A graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, KY with a Doctor of Mininistry, 1998 and Master of Divinity, 1988, a degree from WV State University in History, 1985, has 1 unit of CPE through WVU Hospitals, and has served as a WV Caring Hospice chaplain since 2013.

The Armor of God Women’s Study

West Virginia Caring (formerly Hospice Care Corporation) will be hosting the women’s bible study “Armor of God” with Priscilla Shirer.  It will be a free, four-week series for women including video portions by best-selling author, Priscilla Shirer.  The course will begin on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 6-7:30 pm held at the WV Caring’s Fairmont office at 1406 Country Club Road in Fairmont, WV. Light dinner will be provided.

The course is entitled, “Learn How to Prepare for the Attacks of the Enemy.” All day an invisible war rages around you – an enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that matters to you: your heart, mind, marriage, children, relationships, resilience, your dreams and destiny.  This class will help you be better prepared for these invisible attacks.

Registration is free, but necessary for materials.  The study workbook will be available for sale on the first night for $13, or you can order online on in advance of the class.  To register call WV Caring at 304-864-0884 or email
