Shoot 2 Cure with basketball ribbonCancer poses a risk to all of us. According to the American Cancer Society, almost 1.6 million new cases were diagnosed in the past year.  Cancer knows no boundaries and affects all ages, races, income and status.  To that end, Huggie Bear Products and Hospice Care Corporation have partnered to raise money for the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund at WVU’s Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center.

On Saturday, November 26th, we will be hosting “Shoot 2 Cure”, a candle light memorial and fundraiser from 6-8pm at the Waterfront Hotel in Morgantown, WV.
“Shoot 2 Cure” will be a very special evening for anyone who wants to honor those who have passed, or memorialize survivors, of cancer and other diseases. For a donation, individuals and businesses can participate in this special event and acknowledge their loved ones.  The service will include the loved one’s name read, listen to speaker and cancer survivor, Chet Marshall, receive a candle, program, commemorative T shirt, and refreshments.

Long Term Care Facilities are encouraged to participate on behalf of their residents to acknowledge and support their struggle. Businesses who would like to demonstrate their support can participate at a variety of levels.

Immediately following the service, the auction portion of the evening will be held.  Autographed WVU sports memorabilia and other special items available for both silent auction and live bid.

Huggie Bear Products was inspired by Norma Mae Huggins, mother of Deb Huggins Bradford and WVU basketball coach Bob Huggins as a way to raise much needed money for cancer research here in West Virginia. Thus, the Huggins’ family established the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund at the Mary Babb Randolph Center at WVU.

“Our mother was one in a million and she would want us to be of service and make a difference for others,” said Deb Huggins Bradford.
