Talk about hospice care early

When it comes to end-of-life decisions, choosing how you’d like to be cared for is possibly the most important decision you will make. In a recent EmpowHer article, Darlene Oakley explained why it’s never too early to think about hospice care:

As with most things, you may not need hospice care for you or your loved one, right now, but it pays to learn, plan and think ahead to avoid having to make a very important decision under very stressful conditions. Discuss end-of-life wishes with your family now so that in the event that they need to make decisions on your behalf, they can.

There’s little more stressful than a sudden change in health. Under that pressure, the last thing you want to worry about is figuring out what kind of care is right for you or your loved one. By planning beforehand, you ease that burden, while ensuring that everyone involved is as comfortable as possible.
